Upcoming Events: First Half of 2016

We have an exciting agenda for the first half of 2016, below are the planned highlights.
 
13th April:
Performance - “Talk To The Future”
A tale of an abandoned refugee child, in a different time, but with an important message for today’s world. Written by Frances Gray.
 
23rd April:
Fundraising - Peak District Walk
An Amnesty Sponsored Walk; either sponsor someone to do the walk, or take part in the walk yourself. 
 
11th May:
Talk - Human Rights Challenges in Nigeria
Idowu Anthony-Ajileye, Amnesty International UK's Country Coordinator and expert on human rights in West Africa, will be speaking at our May Meeting.
 
8th June:
Panel Discussion  - Journey to Justice
Following on from the topics of migration and asylum, we are holding a panel discussion about the issues and today’s unprecedented refugee situation. 
 
13th July
Talk - The Arms Trade and Saudi Arabia
Amnesty is calling for the UK to cease selling weapons to Saudi Arabia, who is involved in the devastating conflict in Yemen. At this event we explore the UK’s sales of weapons and what Saudi Arabia has done with them.
 
All events (except the walk and panel discussion) are on the second Wednesday of the month, at 7:15pm at the Quaker Friends Meeting House, St James Street, near the Cathedral in Sheffield City Centre.
 
We also meet on the 4th Wednesday of every month (23/03, 27/04, 25/05, 22/06, 27/07) at the University Arms for letter writing Feel free to join us!
