Amnesty Sheffield January 2019 Meetings

HRD 2018

At our first meeting of the year we will welcome local historian David Price who will introduce his his book "Welcome to Sheffield - A Migration History"

David will show how Sheffield has become cosmopolitan with more than one fifth of the population being of ethnic minority heritage. He will discuss why so many diverse ethnic groups have come here, how they have been received and what are the implications for the city.

This will take place on Wed 9th January 2018, starting at 1900. At the Central United Reformed Church, (60 Norfolk St)

 

After a break for December, we will take up our pens once again at our monthly letter writing meeting. This will take place on Wed 23rd January 2019 also starting at 1900. This takes place at University Arms Pub, (197 Brook Hill). No experience necessary - guidance, envelopes and good company all provided
