Take Action: Justice for Ihar

Last year, Chester and Wrexham Amnesty group campaigned and wrote letters of support for Ihar Tsikhanyuk an LGBTI activist in Belarus as part of amnesty's write for rights campaign.

In February last year when recieving treatment for a stomach ulcer in hospital Ihar was beaten by police and hurled verbal abuse as well as the threat of further violence.

Ihar made a formal complaint however prosecutors have refused to launch an investigation into the incident.

More than a year later, Ihar is still waiting for justice.

Please read more about Ihar's story as well as the situation for LGBTI people in Belarus here

And please take action here to support Ihar's call for an investigation
