September 2023 update

We had an unexpected issue with building access last night which meant we couldn’t host the US speaker event !! Apologies have been made to the wider participants who attempted to join remotely, however, the really good news is that Lise Rossi is free on 2 October so we have agreed to reschedule the event until then.

As a few of us turned up in person, we decided to hold a local AI session in the local pub so we managed to confirm the following:

  • Everything is now in place for the Woking AI annual Street Collection on 23 September. Fingers crossed we have a dry day and lots of people feeling very generous while visiting Waitrose in Goldsworth Park.
  • Next month  – 2 October will see the US Speaker, as mentioned above.
  • November session will be signing letters/actions, confirming arrangements for Write For Rights in Woking town centre on 2 December
  • December session will be W4Rs – Monica has confirmed she will organise
  • We signed letters for individuals at Risk in Egypt (Jen), Berundi (Monica), US (via Lise Rossi) and China – Uygher (Steph).

So all in all, a productive meeting, albeit not quite the one we planned!

Look forward to “seeing” as many of you in October either in person or remotely.
