Who wants to travel a round trip of eighty miles to hear about the destructions weapons can cause? As it happens, we did. Three members of Telford Amnesty group went to Malvern last week, to attend a meeting about the UK Arms Trade, which is one of our key campiangs for the year.

We learnt a lot, and heard from four very varied experts, with experience of campaigning for Amnesty and War on Want, as well as negotiating with arms manufacturers and the UN. They didn’t always agree, and some of what they had to say was distrubing, but there’s no question that this is an urgent topic. Malvern Hills AI group and students from the Chase School did a terrific job in putting on this ambitious event, which attracted well over 150 people.
