Sutton Amnesty Letter-Writing Stall at Carshalton EcoFair - 29 August 2022

The Sutton Amnesty International group ran a successful letter-writing stall at the Carshalton EcoFair on the bank holiday Monday. With strong support from our group, members of the public were invited to write letters on Dr Mohammed Al-Roken (UAE), Alexei Navalny (Russia), Sophia Huang Xueqin and Wang Jianbing (China), and the young Palestinian journalist Janna Jihad.

Group members were encouraged when one local lady came to the stall and related how, a few years ago, she had approached Amnesty to help free her cousin when he was imprisoned in Sierra Leone for his political activities.
