Tree planting to celebrate 10 years of the Minehead Group

Minehead AI members at the tree planting
Chair of the West Somerset Council, Doug Ross, plants the special Amnesty tree

On 4 December 2012, members of the Minehead AI group gathered in the Parks Walk, Minehead. The occasion was the planting of a tree by the Chair of West Somerset Council (and Amnesty member) Doug Ross to mark the group's 10th birthday and also the 50th anniversary of the founding of Amnesty International. A special plaque records these facts. The species of tree - crataegus prunifolia -  was specially chosen so that we can enjoy flowers in the spring and colourful foliage in the autumn.
