Manchester Amnesty Weekly Action

Please do these actions and make a difference.

 UAE

We have been working on behalf of UAE prisoner of conscience, Mohammed al-Roken, since 2016. He will be due for release on 17th July this year, ten years from his arrest (not his sentencing). This month also marks the arrest 5 years ago of Ahmed Mansoor.

The Gulf Centre for Human Rights have a petition regarding five people, including Mohammed and Ahmed, demanding they are released and plan to submit it at the end of March when the Dubai expo ends.

Ukraine

The invasion of Ukraine is an act of aggression and human rights catastrophe. Read Amnesty’s updated statement and take part in a Twitter action at: https://www.amnesty.org.uk/protect-civilians-ukraine. Amnesty has also initiated a petition to the Russian Ministry of Defence.
