Arms Trade Treaty update

The negotiations to agree a first Arms Trade Treaty are over without having achieved a successful conclusion. A few countries, led by the USA and Russia, forced a postponement for several months.

However  the issue will come before the UN General assembly in October, and Amnesty is confidant that a robust Arms Trade Treaty can still be achived then.
