On the morning of Saturday 19th July, 11 volunteers collected for Amnesty in three different locations. Despite the very poor weather for the first two hours, we managed to raise £255 for future campaigns.

Outside Booth's in Ansdell, John Wayland, Margaret Walmsley, Jane Pinnock and Frances Beharrel collected over £100 between them. In St Annes Square, Glyn Eatock, Norah Lynam and John Hood managed nearly £70 while in Lytham Pat Ferguson, Helen Duckworth, Karen Merritt and Sarah Finlayson raised the rest.

There was some interest from passers-by who did not know much about Amnesty International and perhaps some might be taking a greater interest in the future.

We are especially grateful to the four members of The Soroptimists who joined us on this occasion.
