Gordon Marsden, MP for Blackpool South, made time during a campaign in Blackpool on 19th April to talk to members of our Amnesty  Group about  women's rights in Afghanistan.

Gordon signed a pledge card to express his sympathy to the Amnesty Campaign in support of women's rights in Afghanistan, and specifically the calls of Afghan women:

  • To be fully and meaningfully represented in any peace process
  • For women's rights to be protected in the security transition
  • To prioritise action to end violence against women and girls
  • To ensure support and protection for women human rights defenders

Many thanks to Gordon for meeting with us and for his support for the campaign.
