Carnival time

Pride Parade

Blackpool Bride

On Saturday 8 June the Fylde Coast Amnesty group supported Blackpool Pride as we always do.  I’d love to say that we were a happy little band walking along in the sunshine and enjoying the company of the LGBTI community but that would be last year.  This year we battled with high winds and torrential rain and so when we finally reached our stand on the Comedy Pavement we were a sorry, soggy little band.

Nevertheless we managed to interact with the public and we got several hundred appeal cards signed demanding that the Brazilian government investigate the murder of human rights defender, Marielle Franco.

Next year the sun will shine.
