Blackpool Pride June 10th 2017

Fylde Coast Amnesty supports Blackpool Pride 2017

On Saturday June 10th Jennifer, Anne, Holly, Alan, Phoebe, Pat and Norah set off to join the Blackpool Pride Parade – it rained!  There was a huge parade which laughed, drummed, sang and danced its way from the Sand Castle to the Winter Gardens – it rained.  Many, many people brave people turned out to cheer us on our way – and still it rained!

We finally arrived at the Winter Gardens and queued to get in – it was still raining! We paddled our way to the Amnesty stall and started the business of drying out.  We met lots of lovely people and we had 200 cards signed in support of the gay men abducted and tortured in Chechnya.

It was a great fun and when we left the Winter Gardens – it had stopped raining!!!
