SW Regional Conference

At today's SW Regional AI Conference 70 members from across the SW heard from Ethiopian HR defender Getachew Simie Obse about the important role of community radio educating to improve children's rights, gender equality and environmental protection, and how this is being curtailed by government legislation. There is now no internet connection in Ethiopia.

It was a great opportunity to network with other local groups in the region and to hear from AI volunteer country co-ordinators and from AIUK staff. We also participated in an action outside the cathedral to highlight the disappearance of 43 Mexican students.
