Write for Rights 2020: how you can still take part with Ealing Amnesty

Write for Rights 2020 has now launched!

Write for Rights is an annual event where we'd usually get together to write messages of solidarity to human rights defenders and appeals to authorities around the globe. In 2019, 6.5 million actions were taken as part of the Write for Rights campaign.

Sadly, as our regular social card-writing events won't be possible this year, we would like to encourage local Amnesty supporters to write their cards and letters at home. You can then pass these onto Ealing Amnesty any time before Christmas.

Ealing Amnesty will post your Write for Rights messages for you.

Please email ealing.amnesty@gmail.com for the drop-off address or if you’d like us to collect your Write for Rights cards and letters from you. We'll get them posted all together so you don't have to!

You can find full details of this year's cases in the Write for Rights 2020 booklet.

Each case comes with a suggested message, but you are welcome to write your own. The case will tell you whether or not you can mention Amnesty, include your name and address, or send a religious card or message (“Season’s Greetings” is usually a safe bet if you're unsure!). You can also take online actions, all outlined in the brochure.

Write for Rights can change people's lives.

The brochure contains updates about and responses from the human rights defenders featured in last year's cases. These stories can help remind us why Write for Rights is such an important and powerful campaign.

Thank you so much for your ongoing support.
