Take part in Write for Rights 2021 with Ealing Amnesty

Write for Rights 2021 has now launched

Write for Rights is Amnesty International's annual event where we send messages of solidarity to human rights defenders and letter of appeal to authorities around the world. Last year, 4.4 million messages and letters were sent despite the challenges posed by the pandemic.

Take part with Ealing Amnesty

Ealing Amnesty is not holding its usual in-person card-writing events this year. However, we encourage Amnesty supporters in Ealing to write cards or letters from home and pass these onto us any time before Christmas. We'll arrange for all your Write for Rights cards and letters to be posted on your behalf so you don't eve have to pay for stamps!

Please email Ealing.Amnesty@gmail.com with your address if you’d like us to collect your cards and letters.

This year's cases

You can find full details of this year's cases in the Write for Rights Booklet 2021.

Most cases come with a suggested message, but you can also write your own. Each case will also outline whether or not you can mention Amnesty, include your name and address, or send a religious card or message (if you're unsure, “Season’s Greetings” is usually a safe bet).

You can also take online actions which are outlined in the booklet.

Your words are powerful

The booklet also contains updates on last year's cases. These stories can help remind us how spending a few minutes to write a card or letter can have a powerful impact.
