Special Guest Speaker, Celia Stubbs of Refugee Tales, meets Ealing Amnesty on Monday 8th May - please join us

Ealing Amnesty is delighted to welcome Celia Stubbs of Refugee Tales to our meeting on Monday, 8th May 2017.

Walk by Day / Tales by Night

Refugee Tales was born out of the stories told, but so rarely heard, by asylum seekers in immigration detention centres at Gatwick Airport.   Refugee Tales promotes positive messages about refugees and asylum seekers, whilst calling for an end to the indefinite detention of those going through the asylum process. Loosely based on Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, Refugee Tales promotes this message through walking by day and sharing a 'tale' each evening with a local audience.  Walkers and audiences alike gain an opportunity to think and talk about the experiences of people fleeing war and persecution.  This year, they will be walking from Runnymede to Westminster, via Kingston and Brentford, from 1st to 5th July.

Join us on Monday, 8th May 2017

Celia Stubbs will be joining us as a special guest speaker to tell us more about Refugee Tales.  She is a visitor volunteer with the Gatwick Detainees Welfare Group as well as a member of Brighton and Hove Amnesty.

We look forward to welcoming Celia to our next meeting and would like to invite a wider audience to join us to listen, ask questions and find out more about this unique and important project.
