Poems by Chinese prisoner of conscience, Liu Xiabo read at AI display

Group reading of PoC's poems, led by Liz Niven, Scottish poet.

A display of Amnesty International posters was arranged last month at the Meffan Museum, Forfar as part of the 50th. Anniversary events in Dundee Group's area. During this time, a visit was made by Liz Niven, Scots poet who lead a reading of poetry by Chinese human rights activist, Liu Xiabo. Liz has been campaigning with other writers for the release of Liu Xiabo, who is under detention for his activities. Liu Xiabo achieved international recognition when he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2010.
