Brave: Supporting Human Rights Defenders from Croydon

Following a great start to the New Year, February was time to host our annual AGM here in Croydon.

As well as reflecting on the some great work over the past year, we were also delighted to be joined by Sarah Jones, MP for Central Croydon and our guest speaker Sara Rydkvist, Campaigner Manager at Amnesty International UK.

Sara leads on Amnesty’s Brave campaign which focusses on supporting human rights defenders worldwide. Some of the many individuals across the globe currently being supported include:

• Women’s rights defender Azza Soliman (Egypt)
• Transgender activist Sakris Kupila (Finland)
• Human rights and environment activist Rodrigo Mundaca (Chile)

It’s crucial that we support those who are working so tirelessly and at great risk to protect the rights of others.
