TALK Law and Freedom of thought, conscience and religion
Talk on Law and Freedom of thought, conscience and religion by Dr. Alison Mawhinney, Reader in Law at Bangor University.

The talk will examine the human rights legal framework surrounding the right to freedom of thought, conscience and belief. In particular, it will look at the application of this framework to the protection of religion or belief in schools and will make reference to a number of research projects carried out by Dr. Alison Mawhinney in this area. Also, details of a new research project, just begun, which will look at the current statutory obligation placed on all UK state funded schools to carry out an act of collective worship in schools.
