Remember the Tiananmen Square crackdown

Members of the Chipping Norton Amnesty Group will be holding a vigil on the Town Hall steps on Saturday 3rd June from 4-6pm to commemorate the 1989 Tiananmen Square crackdown.  On 4th June 1989 hundreds, if not thousands, of peaceful protesters were killed by Chinese troops in and around Tiananmen Square in Beijing and thousands more have been imprisoned since public remembrances have been criminalized in China.

But history cannot be erased and those detained for peacefully commemorating must be released.

Please join us on Saturday to show that we remember.
