On-going Issues - 2017

ALI AARRASS is a Belgian-Moroccan national who was forcibly returned to Morocco from Spain and is suffering detention and torture. Ali has shown interest in the Amnesty Groups that have supported him. Maps of "where we meet" have been sent to him as well as a greetings card. 

MAXIMA ACUNA - We are working on a new case of Peru Human Rights Defender Maxima Acuna. 
She is a subsistence farmer who has been awarded the Goldman Prize for South & Central America in recognition of her determination to stand up for her right to live peacefully on her own property. 
She has been subjected to threats, intimidation, physical attack in an attempt to force her off her land.
