January monthly meeting

Most of this month's meeting was taken up with a review and discussion of the recent Extraordinary General Meeting of Amnesty International UK including some follow up actions for the group to consider.

We had an update of the group's 'adopted case' of Ferhat Gercek. His lawer was one of 15 human rights lawers who were recently arrested. Ferhat's case is still waiting to be assigned to a new court.

The group has had a reply from our MP Tony Baldry withh reference to our letter regarding our concerns about the proposed Justice and Security Bill.
