Next meeting Monday 14 September at 8pm at 23 Colegrave Road, Bloxham OX15 4NT. 



All are very welcome to our meetings, which are friendly and informal and usually take about an hour to an hour and a quarter. We'll be working through the monthly pack of actions from Amnesty HQ, considering further action on our adopted case of Hakan Yaman in Turkey, and planning for future fund-raising.

Concert for Human Rights, Sat 3 Oct

 

We are holding a fund-raising classical concert in the Autumn: Banbury Strings will be performing in aid of Amnesty at St Mary's Church, Bloxham on Saturday 3 October, 7.30pm. Further details will follow.

Meeting with Victoria Prentis MP, Fri 9 Oct



We corresponded with Banbury's new MP, Victoria Prentis, during the election campaign about the Conservative party's manifesto commitment to scrap the Human Rights Act. Victoria herself has experience as a human rights lawyer. We have arranged to meet with Victoria on Fri 9 Oct at 8pm (venue tba) to discuss the Human Rights Act and the Government's position on other human rights issues. You may wish to note this date in your diary.
