Education resources on LGBTI+ rights
Explore the rights of sexual and gender minority groups with students using these resources
This resource pack has been designed to support primary and secondary teachers explore the human rights of LGBTI+ people with young people.
It helps students understand that everyone has the same human rights, whilst recognising that sexual and gender minority groups continue to face discrimination and abuse in the UK and around the world.
Through age‑appropriate activities, the resource encourages positive language, celebrates diversity, and explores topics such as diverse families, the impact of hate crime, and how schools can be safe, equal places where everyone can learn and thrive.
This self‑paced course raises awareness of the violence and discrimination faced by LGBTI+ people and encourages meaningful action.
Across four modules, learners will build the knowledge, skills and confidence to stand up for human rights, and challenge attacks on the rights and dignity of LGBTI+ people.
The course takes around two hours to complete, and is recommended to anyone aged 15 and over, with no prior knowledge needed; just a commitment to human rights and equality.
