USA should limit civilian casualties, says Admiral

Admiral Michael Mullen, Chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, has warned that the US should limit civilian casualties to avoid alienating the people of Afghanistan.  I admit to being a bit slow noticing the article, dated 19 May 2009 from the Los Angeles Times.

Afghan officials say that an airstrike in the Farah province on 4 May 2009 killed 140 civilians although this figure is disputed by the Pentagon.

I wrote in this blog in February 2009 about civilian Afghan casualties in the war.
