Law to control vulture funds to become permanent

The law to protect some of the poorest countries from profiteering by vulture funds is to become permanent, the UK government has announced.  See this page of the Jubilee Debt Campaign website.

This law has already saved the country of Liberia in west Africa the sum of $40 million.

Jersey does not yet have this law in place and FG Hemisphere is using the courts there to try to get $100 million from the Democratic Republic of Congo, one of the very poorest countries in the world.  Jersey is a UK Overseas Territory and can pick and choose which UK laws it accepts.
