Books for Amnesty Brighton
We are happy to announce that the best pink book shop in Brighton will be reopening soon and we are excited to invite you back!
The shopping experience will be slightly different from what went before but our shelves will be stocked with good quality titles as always!
Our opening hours may vary for the foreseeable future and will be updated weekly here to reflect that, if needed please phone ahead to check if we are open.
Our opening hours for this week are
Monday: 12:00 – 17:30
Tuesday: 11:00 – 17:30
Wednesday: 11:00 – 17:30
Thursday: 11:00 – 17:30
Friday: 11:00 - 17:30
Saturday: 11:00 – 17:30
Sunday: 12:00 – 16:00
In order to enable social distancing there will be a maximum of 3 customers in the shop at anytime and a requirement to Sanitise your hands or wear the gloves provided before browsing the books.
If you have a donation which is larger than one person can carry in one trip, please phone or email the shop to find out if it is a good time to do so or to make arrangements for when it can be safely done in the future. Our 'little pink bookshop' is hard to miss in Brighton’s colourful Sydney Street.
Offering the best second-hand books and new books at second-hand prices, it’s a must for locals and visitors alike.
The shop also stocks:
- CDs and DVDs
- Amnesty t-shirts
- Greetings cards
- Fair trade chocolate
How to find us
Books for Amnesty Brighton is based at:
15 Sydney Street
We’re in North Laine, just a short walk from Brighton train station
- Monday-Saturday: 10am - 5.30pm
- Sunday: 11am - 5pm
- There is a loading bay outside the shop
- Sydney Street is pedestrianised on Saturdays and Sundays
- There are two car parks within a short, two minute, walk from the shop
- Main shop floor is without steps
Volunteer Our shops are run mainly by volunteers so we’re always looking for more! If you’re interest, pop in for a chat If you’re interested in helping out and can spare four hours a week, please pop in for a chat and an application form. Donate Got records you haven’t listened to for years? Or books you’re no longer reading? Don't put them in the attic, bring them down to the shop and donate to support human rights.
