On 17 June the Governorship of Istanbul announced that the Trans Pride and the Istanbul Pride marches, planned for 19 and 26 June respectively, were banned for security reasons.

Zainab al-Khawaja and her son were released from prison in Bahrain on humanitarian grounds on 31 May. She left Bahrain for Denmark on 7 June after receiving information that she could face new charges if she remained in Bahrain.

Urgent Action update: Judge rules in favour of Indigenous Defender

A federal judge in Mexico has ruled in favour of Indigenous rights defender Ildefonso Zamora who has been in prison since November 2015. The Attorney General should now accept that the case is baseless and refrain from appealing the ruling. This will be a key step towards securing Zamora’s release.
