Urgent Action good news: Sudanese students released from Niss detention

Eight students who were arrested while at the office of the human rights lawyer, Nabil Adib, in Khartoum on 5 May have been released on 19 June and 21 June.

Urgent Action: Chinese village leader detained ahead of assembly

Lin Zuluan, 72, a village chief in Wukan village in Guangdong province, has been detained right before a planned village assembly and protest related to illegal land grabs. He is at risk of torture and other ill-treatment and unfair trial.

Urgent Action update: Ten Yemeni journalists forcibly disappeared

Ten Yemeni journalists have been forcibly disappeared since 23 May after they were moved from al-Habra pre-trial detention facility in Sana’a, the capital of Yemen, to an unknown location. They have been arbitrarily detained since 9 June 2015.

Two more activists have been detained for promoting a baijiu (a popular alcohol) with a label commemorating June 4, 1989.
