2021 was a testing one for human rights. Conflicts, crises and emergencies broke out across a world still reeling from the pandemic, further intensifying inequality and injustice.  The crisis in Afghanistan was a major focus in 2021. As the Taliban took over, we documented mass human rights violations and the spiralling humanitarian situation, and launched an urgent response to support refugees fleeing the country.
