TUNISIA: NOMINEE FOR AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL MEDIA AWARD ARRESTED

Sihem Ben Sedrine has been shortlisted for this years ' Special Award for Human Rights Journalists Under Threat '. This award is given to a journalist who by reporting on the human rights situation in their own country is thereby putting themselves at risk. The purpose of the award is to recognise the role of journalism in advancing the cause of human rights; to draw attention to the dangers faced by such journalists around the world; and also to draw attention to the human rights situation in the country concerned.
