For over fifty years, we’ve been campaigning for human rights wherever justice, freedom and truth are denied. And in doing so, we’ve changed thousands of lives for the better. Now we’re looking for an exceptional person to help us reach out and engage with more Parliamentarians than ever before.

About the role

In this key role you’ll be part of the Advocacy and Programmes Team, ensuring that Amnesty International UK (AIUK’s) human rights concerns are on the Parliamentary agenda and coordinating Parliamentary activity across the office. Working with colleagues across the team and the organisation you will be responsible for maintaining and developing relationships across Westminster and Whitehall, in all political parties. You will also identify entry points for AIUK activists to influence Parliamentarians.

About you

An enthusiastic advocate with substantial experience of the UK political system, you’ll be thoroughly familiar with the human rights issues that surround this work. Your proven knowledge of Westminster and Whitehall processes, as well as experience of parliamentary lobbying, mean you’ll have a broad understanding of the UK political system. And you’ll back that knowledge with a track record in planning, monitoring and achieving change through advocacy. But just as important are your top-notch communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of Amnesty and externally too.

About us

Our aim is simple: an end to human rights abuses. Independent, international and influential, we campaign for justice, freedom and truth wherever they’re denied. Amnesty International is a global movement of more than seven million people who campaign for a world where human rights are enjoyed by all. Our supporters are outraged by human rights abuses but inspired by hope for a better world - so we work to improve human rights through campaigning and international solidarity. We reach almost every country in the world and have:

  • more than 2 million members and supporters who drive forward our fight for rights
  • more than 5 million activists who strengthen our calls for justice

Whether we’re applying pressure through powerful research or direct lobbying, mass demonstrations or online campaigning, we’re all inspired by hope for a better world. One where human rights are respected and protected by everyone, everywhere.
