Perronet Thompson plaque unveiling

On Thursday, 31st August, 2017, 2pm at the Education Room, Wilberforce House,High Street, Hull,  a plaque will be unveiled to commemorate Perronet Thompson.  All welcome to attend this event.

Perronet Thompson was born in Hull in 1783 and educated at Hull Grammar School.   He became governor of Sierra Leone 1808 to 1810 and was MP for Hull 1835-1837.  He was a radical reformer who wrote several articles supporting universal suffrage.
