January 2017 Newsletter

Our first newsletter this year which includes a big thank you to everyone who supported our Write4Rights event on Saturday 10th December at Newchurch Hall in Culceth.  Greetings cards and letters were sent to cases selected by Amnesty International as requiring communications to support individuals and groups struggling against human rights abuses.  All the cards are prepared so visitors simply had to write their message (we supply suggested messages to help) and seal their envelope.  We do everything else and it was a great event as we chatted with everyone who came down over coffeee and biscuits.  Please think about popping in next year as we aim to be there the second Saturday in December 2017 - more on this event later in the year.

Our newsletter also carries updates on cases and events.  In January we have two events, out usual meeting on the third Thursday of the month at the Nora Street Community House in Warrington (see also a seperate blog) and a collection in Tesco Warrington on Saturday 21 January.  We will be there from 9 - 5am so please come and do your shopping and say hello and any loose change would be welcome for funds.  All monies collected go directly to AIUK or on group activities as we are an entirely volunteer group.  Come to a meeting to find out more.
