The Bundle review and thank you

Many thanks to everyone who came to watch The Bundle on Friday 15 September at the Friends meeting House in Warrington.  The story challenged our thinking about the difficulties faced by refugees and asylum seekers applying to the Home Office and the time it takes for cases and appeals to be heard.

Following the performance and the news that Adilah was still not settled so she and her children are still at risk the audience shared some refreshment and returned for a question and answer session with Lynn and Dave Morris of the Journeymen Theatre. Many topics were discussed and we also heard from Sue Rigby of the Warrington Amnesty group about her work with refugees and asylum seekers in Bolton and Leigh.  Evelyn Kinsella, also of Warrington Amnesty, told the audience about the I Welcome campaign to protect refugee rights across the world.

A magnificent sum of £283 was raised on the night which was spilt between AssylumLink Merseyside and the Quaker support group in Lesbos.  This money will be spent on trainers for refugees who often arrive without essential clothing and the shoes will be bought locally so the local economy also benefits.

We would love to have the Journeymen Theatre back for another production so watch this space!
