I give below some updates,actions and information on Burma. Let me know if you are interested in going to see the Burma play in Lyme Regis in October as one of our members is also interested.
Also attached is an Urgent Action on behalf of Kyaw Hla Aung; do consider sending a letter of support.

Dear Friends
 
This is August and holidays for Amnesty groups. But I send you two interesting articles to read.
 
One from the IS

and the second from The Economist. This article makes gloomy reading and will help you understand why our Dr Tun Aung case is such a difficult one. The Burmese government does not class him as a political prisoner nor as a Prisoner of Conscience. So, it will be a struggle to get him out alive.
 
On another matter
 
how about a nice weekend on the Jurassic Coast in Dorset? If you go for the weekend 18-20 October, you will also be able to see The Burma Play which the Burmaworking Lyme Regis group are arranging. Kate Allen and Anna Roberts of BCUK will also be there.
