March 2011 International Women's Day

8th March marked the centenary of International Women’s Day. Swindon and Marlborough Amnesty Group set up a display in Swindon's central library celebrating AI’s achievements to stop violence against women. The display included a place for people to write the names of women they admire.

Related recent news in the press, via EVAW: the UK government, while stating its commitment to ending violence against women at home, is attempting to weaken the European Convention on domestic violence and other violence against women and girls. We wrote letters to the Home Secretary expressing our concern.
