Celebrate International Women's Day in Swindon on March 8th

Friday 8 March is International Women’s Day and there are all sorts of things going on at the Central Library. They are hosting an Open House day of free events between 10.30am and 9pm. And Swindon Soroptimists are again organising their “Join us on the Bridge” event. They are inviting anyone interested in issues of equality, violence against women, women’s health and peace in the world, to join them on the footbridge over Princes Street near the Wyvern Theatre at 12.30pm until 1.15pm.

Do join them, even if only for a short time, to show that Swindon people are willing to stand up for women to have equal status in every facet of life here and throughout the world. They will be handing out leaflets on issues such as Domestic Violence, Trafficking, and Ovarian Cancer.
