Quiz Night: Friday 27 March

General knowledge fans are being invited to pit their wits and help support international human rights at a quiz night.

Organised by Sutton Coldfield’s Amnesty International group, the quiz takes place at Sutton Town Football Club in Coles Lane, Sutton Coldfield, B72 1NL at 8pm on Friday March 27.

Entry costs £4 per person with teams of up to six people. Questions will range from pop to politics and football to famous faces and there will also be a raffle.

The quiz is an annual event and all proceeds go to support Amnesty International's work campaigning for human rights around the globe.

People at the quiz will also be offered the opportunity to sign a letter in support of the group’s campaign for the release of its adopted prisoner of conscience Salidzhon Abdurakhmanov, who is currently serving a ten year jail sentence in Uzbekistan.

Sutton Coldfield Amnesty International group chairman Andrew Hindle says: “Our quiz has become an annual fixture on the calendar for lots of people but there’s always room for more.

“There is no need to book in advance, just come along and test your knowledge against the other teams. You’ll have a bit of fun while supporting human rights.”

The Sutton Coldfield branch of Amnesty International meets on the second Tuesday of every month (except August) at 8pm in the Conference Centre, Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 69 Lichfield Road, Sutton Coldfield, B74 2NU. New members are always given a warm welcome.
