We are supporting Chen Guancheng
Since his release from prison on 9 September 2010 Chinese human rights defender, Chen Guangcheng and his family have been under house arrest imposed by village leaders in Dongshigu village, Shandong province. Chen Guangcheng is in urgent need of medical attention and he and his family are running out of food, but the authorities have refused to let them leave their home.
Update September 2011:
A year on from his release from prison, Chen Guangcheng still cannot be considered a free man. Both he and his wife remain under strict and restrictive house arrest.
We believe that the local authorities are responsible for maintaining this brutal punishment and we need your help to flood them with appeals calling on them to finally free Chen Guangcheng and Yuan Weijing.
