Human rights and the European Union

Human rights in Europe is a subject of huge importance and controversy - and seldom out of the headlines. If you have got strong views or are keen to find out more come along to our next meeting on Wednesday January 8th at 7.30 p.m. and put your questions to Phil Bennion Liberal Democrat Member of the European Parliament for the West Midlands who will speak about 'Human Rights and the European Union'.

Phil has been a member of the Liberal Democrat's International Relations Committee which was active in formulating their approach to issues such as Israel/Palestine, Kosovo, Kashmir and Darfur and prioritises justice and peace issues in his work.  You may want to question him on matters such as the union's response to the rights of Roma communities or Europe's response to refugees or people trafficking, whatever it is, don't miss this chance to have your questions answered.

Whatever your questions or comments bring them along to the meeting which as usual is at the Friends' Meeting House, 37 Maidenhead Road, Stratford-on-Avon - you will be very welcome.
