Global Climate strike September 20th

Stratford on Avon Amnesty International supports the Global Climate Strike!

Fires in the Arctic, Amazon, Africa, and elsewhere underline how desperate the state of our climate is becoming. We are facing runaway climate change, and an ecological devastation that will make it impossible for the majority of humanity to feed ourselves. We need urgent and committed action now, but instead our governments are making things worse, by supporting fossil fuel expansion, deforestation, new airport runways, and other suicidal projects. It is down to us to act.

The organisers of the strike believe that we need to build action and focus attention on this as quickly as possible, and as part of the Global Climate Strike from 20-27 September, there will be a Climate Strike in Stratford on the 20th, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. We will meet at Henley Street at 11:00 am, and march to Bancroft Gardens.
