December Diary

December promises to be an exceptionally busy month for Amnesty supporters in Stratford on Avon so keep your eyes peeled on the webside, Facebook and Twitter to keep up to date, there should be something for everyone.

Throughout the month of December (1st - 31st) there will be a Write for Rights stall in Holy Trinity Church, Old Town - stop if you are passing.

Thursday December 3rd - Drop in letter writing for Individuals at Risk, The Falcon Hotel, Chapel Street, 10 a.m. to 12 noon, all welcome.

Saturday December 5th - Write for Rights stall, at the top of Sheep Street 9.30 - 3.00 - stop in if you are passing

Wednesday December 9th - Human Rights Day celebration reception at the House of Commons. Members from Stratford group are attending. This is an event aimed at engaging MPs (and peers) through involving them in our Write for Rights Campaign, in order to raise the profile of human rights in Parliament and Parliamentarians' awareness of the work of Amnesty International UK activists across the country. Our representatives hope to meet with Nadim Zahawi MP and encourage him to sign a greetings card.

Wednesday December 9th - Social evening at Kathy and James's house, 42 Maidenhead Road, Stratford CV37 6XT. Time: 7-9, drinks provided, family and friends welcome, offers of finger food gratefully received. To create an Amnesty focus please bring with you a short 'human rights' piece to read aloud. Readings should be as short as possible. Please RSVP by November 18th to Kathy.stredder@btinternet.com

Monday December 21st - Carol singing organised by Jo Pettitt rojopettitt@hotmail.co.uk . Meet at the end of Broard Walk (in Stratford) at 7.00 p.m. for singing in Old Town, punch and mince pies at Jo and Roger's afterwards. All welcome.
