Broken Families

There is a chance to gain more understanding of the lives of families in the occupied territories of Western Sahara by watching Broken Families a film made by Al Jazeera - Witness. Broken Families will be screened in the UK Parliament on 25 February as part of an All Party Parliamentary Group on Western Sahara, but will also be available on Aljazeera English (channel 83 on Freeview) on Sunday 9th February at 22.30 and repeated on Monday 10th February at 9.30 a.m.
The film focusses on one man, Barhim Dahane, one of the leading human rights activists in Western Sahara. Despite being imprisoned three times and enduring severe physical and psychological torture at the hand of the Moroccan authorities, he continues to fight for justice for families like his own, torn apart by years of oppression.
