Another great day at Stockport Fairtrade Fair

Many many thanks to everyone who supported us at the Stockport Fairtrade Fair on Saturday.  We met some lovely people, as we always do every year at this event.  Well done to the organisers, and thanks for all the bottomless pot of fairtrade tea!

Thanks too for the support from the Mayor and Mayoress of Stockport (pictured above), and Andrew Stunell MP.

We were collecting signatures for Amnesty International's Write For Rights campaign, which highlights a number of individuals and groups whose human rights are curtailed or threatened.  We had four cards on our stall, highlighting the following cases:

We also took the opportunity to talk to people about Stockport Group's Individual At Risk, Hakamada Iwao.

We're happy to say we filled several pages in each card with signatures, and we're really grateful to everyone who signed.  Your messages will be sent to the groups and individuals concerned; it's really important that they know that the wider world is aware of their circumstances, and that someone is working on their behalf.

See you all next year!
