November 2015 Meeting

Our next monthly meeting will be on Thursday 12th November 2015. As usual, we shall meet from 8 - 9:30pm at St Mary`s Church Hall, Church Street, Twickenham, TW1 3NJ.

We shall be watching War on Whistleblowers, a 66 minute documentary by Robert Greenwald, which highlights recent cases in the US where government employees and contractors have attempted to expose fraud and abuse to the detriment of their personal and professional lives. The film focuses especially on the impact of the Espionage Act upon national security whistleblowers.

If there is time, we shall also watch the last part of Citizenfour, Laura Poitras’ documentary which we did not finish watching in July. It covers the period when Edward Snowdon first made public his revelations about the post 9/11 US eavesdropping industry.

R&T members will be delighted to hear that we collected a total of £726.25 when participating in Amnesty’s nationwide Street Collection on Saturday 10th October. Thanks to all those who took part.

Please don't forget that on Friday 11th December, R&T members will be singing carols between 5.30pm and 7.30pm at Richmond Station.

We hope that many of you will join us for this fundraising event, even if you can spare only a little time to sing or hold a collecting box.

We shall be having a carol practice from 7pm on Thursday 10th December at St Mary's Church Hall, for the hour prior to our December monthly meeting. Please come along to this if you can. All are welcome to join us at this festive event.
