News from Richmond & Twickenham Amnesty Group

Our Christmas Carol Singing Event on 7 December went very well. Thanks to all those who supported us, either by singing or donating. Altogether we collected £316.00 which is to be sent to Amnesty's Charitable Section. On the following evening, many Richmond &Twickenham members turned out for our Write for Rights card-writing evening, after which we posted more than eighty messages of support and hope to Prisoners of Conscience worldwide.

From January 2017, R&T Amnesty will have a new venue and our 12 January 2017 meeting will be at The Twickenham Club, 7 Church St, Twickenham TW1 3NJ, which is only a few doors away from St Mary's Church Hall where we used to meet. As usual we will be meeting from 8pm - 9.30pm.
Do join us there in January to hear our speaker, Hugh Sandeman, Country Co-ordinator from the North Africa Team, who will be talking to us about the Egyptian photojournalist, Shawkan, one of the prisoners of conscience included in this year's Write for Rights Campaign.
Meanwhile, a reminder that we organising a new venture - an Amnesty International Benefit Concert featuring the following bands:
