News of Recent and Forthcoming Events for R&T Amnesty

R&T Amnesty's Street Collection went very well this year. Altogether, 17 members turned out to collect an excellent total of £686.29. Thanks to all those who contributed.

Our meeting this month will be on Thursday 10th November, when Jemma Allen, Country Coordinator for Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgzstan and Uzbekistan, will be coming to update us on Amnesty's work in Uzbekistan.

In the past, R&T Amnesty has taken a particular interest in this area, so Jemma's presentation will be of special interest to many of us.

On Wednesday December 7th, R&T members will be singing carols  and collecting donations at Richmond Train Station from 5pm - 7.30pm. We need good singers with strong voices as well as people to hold collecting tins. So, please contact us at hattowendy@gmail.com if you would like to take part.

Our December monthly meeting will be the following day, on Thursday 8th. Once again, we will be writing Christmas cards and enjoying a glass of wine and mince pies. Please come along and join in Amnesty's Write for Rights campaign by sending messages of hope and support to prisoners of conscience worldwide.

As usual, our monthly meetings will be held at St Mary's Church Hall, Church Street, Twickenham, TW1, 3NJ between 8pm and 9.30pm.

Members and newcomers are all welcome.
