June 2017 Monthly Meeting

Our next monthly meeting will be on Thursday 8th June when out speaker will be Celia Stubbs. Celia is a member of Brighton and Hove Amnesty Group and she will be telling us about her work with the Gatwick Detainees Welfare Group. As a result of this work, Refugee Tales www.refugeetales.org was developed. This is an attempt to promote positive messages about refugees and asylum seekers by means of group walks over several days. At the end of each day, a 'tale' is told to a local audience about someone in detention.

From 1st - 5th July, Celia's group will be walking from Runnymede to Westminster, and, as part of this journey, they will walk from Walton to Kingston on Sunday 2nd July. That evening, there will be a free reading of tales of refugee experience at All Saints Church, Kingston. Celia will be inviting R&T members to this event.

As usual, will will meet from 8pm - 9.30pm at The Twickenham Club, 7 Church Street, Twickenham, TW1 3NJ.

All are welcome to join us to hear about the important work of Refugee Tales.
